I was talking to my close friend Martha last night and we started talking about music. We talked about how it influences our life. Last Sat on air I was playing old school music and everyone was feeling that show. Im not knocking the new generation of music but that shit dont bring tears to ur eyes unless they ass cant sing or rap and you're laughing until tears fall. I grew up going to concerts with my mama when I was like 10 years old. I saw the Isley Brothers, Confunkshun, Luther Vandross, Freddy Jackson, Rolls Royce just to name a few. Those were the days when music was at its best. I was young and I didnt fully understand what they were talking about but I knew what it meant to get out your seats and dance. That was in the 70's.
I also grew up in the era of house parties. They had mad crazy liquor and made the everclear punch with fruit cocktail. My mama was the master at making that shit. Then you had a Dj that spinned the records and had the cassette played on deck. Then hold the old fashioned microphones that they spoke in to. Then everybody would be jamming like hell then then dj would start feeling the crowd and then he would break out with some SugaHill or Grand Master Flash and the crowd would go crazy. Then it would be time for the soul train line. That would be my favorite. Here I was 11 years old in my sunday best dress going down the soul train line dancing my ass off. That was in the early 80's. Then music started changing and I was tripping at what was happening in this era. We started hearing song that had their won dances. No like the shit the kids are doing now. But let's take a trip down memory lane. There was a lot dances in da mid 80's like da alligator, double dutch, smurf, et, snake, da whoop, cabbage patch and the list goes one. then the music was turned up a notch. real love ballads was popping up everywhere. Then Miami introduced ur to Uncle Luke and everybody got as nasty as they wanna and men were yelling "Hey We Want Some Pussy". Chicks couldnt hold a candle to the chicks in Miami. Then Do Do Brown came on the scene. We embraced these dances and music without a problem. But if your ass was in Jr or Sr high school trying to do some of those dance at a school dance, you were kicked the fuck out with no hesitation. Then dancing on skates became the next phase of growing. up. Ready For The World and Al B Sure came in giving up the love ballards that was causing all the high school girls to be fast in da ass. And we cant forget going to the club clicked up and having dance offs. If you were a female and ur crew won, you have your choice of dick you was chilling with for the night. Men would sit back and look at your moves and they would size up u and ur fuck game. lol Then Mc Hammer came out and took dancing to a whole new level. Hell I thought Kid n Play had shit on lock. you could see the transition that music was about to embark on. Then R Kelly came out with Public Announcement and fucked up a lot of shit. Everyone had that Vibe and chicks were Honey Love. Music was about to change as we new it. How many people can remember what song on 12 play was there best fucking song? Shit for me it was and still is "Your Body Is calling Me". You play that song and I swear we are fucking. R Kelly could sing any female into instant wetness. Other groups and artist start putting down their signature impressions on everyone. I could go on and on talking about music and how it has changed our live, they way we think and how we fuck our partners. I think every Sat will be a throw back show so we can pay homage to everyone that has influenced the way music now. This show was crazy. I had all kinds of fucking technical difficulties with my internet so the damn show kept cutting out. I had been looking forward to this interview for the last 2 weeks. I first remember seeing Quan in the "Just A Moment" video. I was completely blown away by him rapping then singing. Not to mention he was fine as hell. Well my boyfriend at the time didnt like my slick ass comments so I got in trouble. And that was my first time seeing his multi-talented ass. So when I was approached about him on twitter and coming on the show, fuck yes I jumped on the opportunity to have him ride da choclate wave. Then he dropped his mixtape "The Struggle" the same day he did his interview. I was feeling super special. Quan had been a team player with talking shit with us on twitter to promote the show. So I already knew I was going to have my hands full with his ass. Once Quan came on the air we started to talk about his past, present and his future which happens to look bright as fuck right now. I remember looking at the behind the scenes of making just a moment. The guy that owned the building stepped on the set and immediately Quan approached dude and was like let my talk to you and he said he wasnt suppose to be here. That is a statement that stuck in my head. So I asked him what he meant and he went on to explain about his past and the various brushes with the law. Living the state of VA ur ass has to be extra special careful and not get cased up. We talked about his start in da industry. He came in mainstream and it took off from there. We talked about music and my favorite topic "SEX". But seriously Quan is truly special in his own way. The mixtape has 10 tracks and each track brings something to the table. Once ofmy favorites it "Get Away". You guy sneed to hear it and understand this man's struggles and his pain. Quan is truly a force to reckon with lyrically. His life has a story that we all can learn from, with GOD all things are possible. Quan has worked with some big names in da industry from Nas and he has a track with Asher Roth called "Summertime". Quan is far from the average dude. XXl dropped his mixtape on Nov 15. The Struggle Mixtape Then All HipHop did a beautiful write up him. Quan's article. This show was going to be some what special with all the shit we had been talking on twitter. We had decided it was going to be battle of the sexes. Me and Princess Nae was well prepared for our special guest Mr. J Harden aka Mr Hood N Blues. He has this song called "Work That Pole" and that shit is a banger. So Rob Coney had originally told me about J and he sent me the song and after I heard the lyrics, I knew I had to have his tall ass on my show. Once he came on the show, I had no idea that he would say the shit he said. I swear he is wild as fuck and I love that shit. We played some more tracks from J. My favorites were "Umbrella and Sit On My Face. Then to top it off, he sang live on the show. What's crazy is he was at the barber shop doing the interview. J has a very colorful past. He has a lot of energy which makes for a good guest on Choclate City Radio on day. I was truly impressed with him. Make sure yall follow him @jharden01
 This show was a special show because rapper Heavy D passed and I thought it was only right to dedicate my last hour to him and his memory. I had Mississippi rap artist Offsett live on the air. He came on ready to rumble with Choc and Princess Nae. we talked about how he started in the rap game and his up bringing. I was very impressed with his honesty about his childhood and the struggles he went through. Most people wont come on the air and disclose personal shit like that. So he gets a big ass salute from me. We talked about our first encounter in Greensboro NC in July with the "Deal or No Deal" showcase. Then I had to bring up his video "Bullfrog Yea". That video is so fucking raw. His ass kept it all the way real on this one. You have to look at the video to see what Im talking about. Follow him at @OFFSETT On Tues Nov 8, we lost Heavy D. He was a pioneer rapper that brought us so many hott as tracks in the 90's. His last performance was on the 2011 BET Hip_Hop awards where he ripped that shit. He will be truly missed. This is one guest I have been trying to get to ride da choclate wave for the longest time. He said he wasnt ready until his mixtape dropped. Well Matrix Reloaded dropped and that shit was the fucking bomb. For those of you that dont know who Mel Matrix, he is the problem child of Byrdgang/Dipset. He is Robin and Jim Jones is Batman. Mel is one of those dudes that stands out when he opens his mouth. His lyrical freestyle will leave you speechless. This mixtape show a different and maturer side of him. He teamed up with Capo, Rah, Camron, Sen City, and a list of other to bring you some of the hottest tracks you will hear this fall. And word has it that in the near future Mel and NOE will be working on a collab together. Im very excited about that. Mel doesnt have a twitter so you can follow his ass. I had the chance to interview Soul For Real on Choclate City Radio and it was so off da fucking chain. Kd and Choc called in and rode da choclate wave. It threw them off because my interviews are far from the norm. We talked about how old they were when they started out. We talked about if they ever put Jase on any pussy when they were on the road. They were like they had to chase old ass women up out the room. They are looking to act in some movies and make their mark on the big screen. We played their classic Candy Rain.
