Gimme That

I use to wake up out my sleep because the pain runs deep.
I remember I'm stronger than I thought so gimme that. I use to run from everything until one day I looked walking into my past ready anything.
I often wondered what I did to be molested at the age of 14, raped by a friend and his friend at 18, and let's not forget the physical abuse from my baby daddy, ex-husband and others. I kept it all in and not even telling my mother.
I woke up one day with a fuck it attitude, I didn't give 5 fucks for being rude. So gimme that.
It was time for me to address my fears. I did that and more cleansing myself with all my tears. So gimme that.
Now I sleep good at night and I wake up smiling just glad I can see the light.
I decide to live my life on my terms, clearing my heart of all the painful germs. So gimme that.
I love who I am and the truth I speak, everyone respects me for being that chick that's allergic to weak.
I'm free from all that hate I hid in my heart I learned to be loud, giving all the glory to God and in Him I'm proud. So gimme that.

When others tear you down, you're at your wits end from all the hurtful shit you have been around.
You constantly look to God above while trying to find unconditional love.
Years of hurt seem to pass me by and I'm constantly asking myself why?
I'm not looking for a pity party but I'm tired of living in this fucked up body.
Will anyone want the real or do I have to keep faking it until everyone can see?
I'm starting to believe that love is full of shit but my heart still longs for it.
Let me pick myself up while I still can, I'm betting on myself so fuck a man.
I need to love me first and God will handle to rest. I'm living everyday while striving to be the best.
After going thru all this hurt and turning it into wins, I extend all my hands to boost a sista up.
